To Five Tool Chess:

In an effort to get the club stated with 2011 matches to determine a chess ladder, a whole series of chess dates have been arranged for January and February 2011. 

All club meetings for these dates will be held at the Event Center at Raleys.

Notes.

Our initial ladder will be announced at the end of play on February 27, 2011.                               

Please bring your chess board and pieces and be ready to play right at 10 minutes after the scheduled start. 

Each meeting starts with a "chess challenge" (5 minutes), a warm up game of "scramble" (5 minutes with white and 5 minutes with black), and then the competition play starts.

I will be making the pairings for the first few meetings, as we work to establish our internal ladder.

Orientation Meeting

Please mark your calendars.  Five Tool Chess will hold its orientation meeting as follows

Time - 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Starting December 2010, we will start and build a great chess club in Elk Grove.  It will be an inclusive group.  All levels from beginner to advanced are welcomed and encouraged

Club goals are straight forwad.

• Chess - weekly training, clinics, intra-club competitions, and inter-club tournaments. 
• Fitness - weekly outdoor group activities such as walking, hiking, jogging, yoga and more.
• Socializing - scheduled public social gatherings with FTC friends
• Networkling - business interactions to learn, promote, and share
• Reading - book reading and sharing gathernigs
• Fun, Fun, And More Fun - for individuals and families

  There is no charge to join FTC, and particiapte in club events. 

A word about children below 18 years of age.  Of course, they are welcome.  But for Five Tool Chess, parents are to attend all club meetings and events with their children.

Frank Hagie and Kathy Lucchesi are FTC co-organizers.  We look forward to meeting each of you.  We have an active agenda starting in December 2010 and heading full force into 2011.
